WHAT IS A WEBPAGE?
Splitting the compound word into its root words [Web and Page]. In the technical world, the Web is the common name for World Wide Web (WWW). Which is an information system enabling documents and other web resources to be accessed over the internet.
A Page is one side of a leaf of paper, parchment or other material in a book, magazine, newspaper, or other collection of sheets, on which text or illustrations can be printed, written or drawn to create documents.
Now defining a webpage is made easier :-)
A webpage simply put is a document for the World Wide Web that is identified by a unique Uniform Resource Locator (URL). It is a single HTML document that can be viewed on a web browser. We'll understand more as we move forward.
WHAT IS A WEBSITE?
A website is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain name and published on at least one web server. Websites are typically dedicated to a particular topic or purpose, such as news, education, commerce, entertainment or social networking.
From a single webpage, one can navigate to another using links. The collection of those web pages together is referred to as a website.
ANALOGY
Using a textbook: A textbook is made up of numerous pages each having its unique page number. [Each page represents a webpage, a unique page number represents each page's URL, the textbook as a whole represents the website and the textbook's name represents the website's domain name]. Take it slow and you'll get it. ;-)
A site (literally): The meaning of SITE is the spatial location of an actual or planned structure or a set of structures. [Each structure represents each webpage and the site is the website]
